A Study on the"Special Scholarship"Recipients of Generation Z at Tsinghua University

Abstract

As the highest honor for Tsinghua University undergraduates,the recipients of the Special Scholarship are undoubtedly typical representatives of the university's education outcomes.With the development of the times,the charac-teristics of the special scholarship recipients have changed quietly.Based on Ziegler's actiotope model of giftedness,this study conducts in-depth interviews with three recipients of"Generation Z"and finds that:in terms of personality traits,special scholarship recipients of"Generation Z"are characterized by high self-demand in daily life,positive attitude,and strong resilience in dealing with difficulties;in terms of behavioral performance,they use"practical work and good think-ing"to transcend"obedience and work";in terms of value orientation,they show the orientation of common interests and a strong sense of social responsibility.It is the continuous interaction of character quality,behavior and value orientation,as well as the interaction between the individual and the external environment,that finally creates the subjective action space of the"special scholarship"recipients,which is manifested in the concept of diversified development,ability growth and the orientation of beauty and commonwealth.The explanatory framework proposed by the study helps to reveal the univer-sity growth and development process of high-potential innovative talents.
