Taurine is a semi-essential amino acid in animals.A large number of studies have found that it can play an impor-tant role in improving animal reproductive performance.Therefore,this article reviews the basic properties of taurine and the research progress on its impact on animal reproductive performance,which provides a reference for the wide application of tau-rine in animal production.
