Abstract

Exogenous abscisic acid(ABA)and its synthesis inhibitor(fluridone)were applied on'Cabernet Franc'(V.vinifera L.)at about 10 days before veraison and deionized water treatment was used as the control,to investigate the transcriptional regulatory mechanism of resveratrol(Res)synthesis.From the concentration of Res and gene expression analysis,ABA advanced berry ripening,and increased the total soluble solids(5%),and Res(33%)accumulation in berries;while fluridone delayed ripening,and decreased the total soluble solids(20%)and Res(44%)accumulation.However,the synthesis of Res was regulated on transcription level during berry ripening,two ABA synthesis genes(VvNCED1 and VvNCED2)were up-regulated,as well as Res synthesis genes and their regulatory genes(VvSTS,VvMyb14 and VvMyb15)were increased in exogenous ABA-applied berries.On the other hand,these genes were down-regulated in fluridone-applied berries.Therefore,this study can further verify exogenous ABA is beneficial to the synthesis and accumulation of Res in grapes.
