工会对青年流动人口的"工资溢价"效应OA北大核心CHSSCD
The"Wage Premium"Effect of Trade Unions on Young Migrants
青年就业历来是各界关注的重要议题.已有研究不乏对工会"工资溢价"效应的探讨,但对工会能否提升青年流动人口的工资收入却鲜有关注.本研究基于2017年中国流动人口动态监测调查(CMDS)微观数据,实证检验工会对青年流动人口的"工资溢价"效应.研究发现:参加工会能够显著提高青年流动人口的工资收入;工会对青年流动人口的"工资溢价"效应存在异质性,对女性,跨城流动,流动时间短,从事商业服务业、生活服务业,外资合资、国有企业,东部地区的青年流动人口的工资收入提升程度更大;参加工会能够促进青年流动人口与企业签订劳动合同,进而提高其工资收入.未来应继续加大工会基层组织建设,加强工会对青年流动人口的权益保护.
Youth employment has always been an important issue of concern to all sectors.A great deal of research has been conducted on the"wage premium"effect of trade unions,whilst little attention has been paid to whether trade unions can improve the wage income of young migrants.This study,based on micro data from China Migrants Dynamic Survey(CMDS)in 2017,empirically examines the"wage premium"effect of trade unions on young migrants.The study finds that joining the trade unions can significantly increase the wage income of young migrants;but the"wage premium"effect of trade unions on young migrants is heterogeneous,with a greater improvement in wage income for females,cross-city migrants,especially ones of shorter duration of migration,those engaged in commercial and life service industries,and those working in foreign and joint ventures,state-owned enterprises,and the eastern regions.Moreover,joining the trade unions can also promote the signing of labor contracts between young migrants and enterprises,thereby increasing their wage income.It is also suggested in this study that in the future the grassroots organizations of trade unions should continue to be strengthened to protect the rights and interests of young migrants.
