Conversation and Learning to be Human:Oakeshott on Liberal Education of University
摘要
Abstract
Oakeshott is a British political thinker who considers education from a philosophi-cal perspective and puts forward unique insights about liberal education of university.He believes that education is an activity in which teachers and students have conversations and a process in which an individual learns to be a human.The university is the ideal place for liberal education but facing the development predicament brought by the world.The spirit of liberal education of u-niversity is gradually declining.Therefore,Oakeshott advocates that universities should guarantee students'interval,carry out friendly conversations between teachers and students,prioritize to students'self-understanding,and return to the essence of liberal education.关键词
