Abstract
Objective:The application effect of periodontal bacterial photo dynamic therapy in receiving fixed ortho-dontic treatment.Methods:From July 2020 to June 2023,80 adolescent gingivitis patients who received fixed orthodontic treatment were selected and divided into control group(40 cases,initial periodontal therapy)and study group(40 cases,initial periodontal therapy+periodontal bacterial photo dynamic therapy)using a random number table method.The plaque index(PLI)and sulcus bleeding index(SBI),the number and percentage of positive points for bleeding on probing(BOP),inflam-matory factors in gingival crevicular fluid,and treatment efficacy were compared between the two groups.Results:Compared with before treatment,the PLI and SBI,the number and percentage of BOP positive points of the two groups decreased after 2 weeks of treatment,and compared with the control group,the study group had lower PLI and SBI,the number and percentage of BOP positive points after 2 weeks of treatment(P<0.05).Compared with before treatment,the levels of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1(TIMP-1)increased,while the levels of matrix metalloproteinase-8(MMP-8),interleukin-17(IL-17),and IL-1β decreased.After 2 weeks of treatment,compared with the control group,the study group had higher levels of serum TIMP-1,lower levels of MMP-8,IL-17 and IL-1β(P<0.05).Compared with the total effective rate of 62.50%in the control group,the study group's 87.50%was higher(P<0.05).Conclusion:Performing periodontal bacterial photo dynamic therapy in adolescent gingivitis patients undergoing fixed orthodontic treatment can improve the number and percentage of positive points for PLI,SBI,and BOP,alleviate inflammation,and improve treatment effectiveness.关键词
