Inheritance and Innovation of Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnosis and Treatment in Chronic Kidney Disease:Academic Thoughts and Clinical Experiences from Famous Doctors of Xiyuan Hospital

Abstract
Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences is a pioneering institution in the systematic research of modern nephrology within the framework of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)in China.Over the past six decades,guided by renowned senior Chinese medicine practitioners,the hospital has delved deeply into the efficacy of TCM in managing chronic kidney disease(CKD).By continually integrating modern medical technology,a comprehensive prevention and treatment system for CKD combined with Western medicine has been established,emphasizing the strengths of TCM.The nephrology department at Xiyuan Hospital boasts a team of distinguished doctors with extensive experience in clinical diagnosis and treatment,as well as significant academic achievements.Notably,esteemed senior TCM practitioners such as YUE Meizhong,FANG Yaozhong,SHI Zhensheng,and NIE Lifang are considered the pioneers of modern TCM nephrology.This paper highlights the scholarly contributions of veteran Chinese medicine practitioners to the advancement of TCM nephrology,providing insights into the principles of clinical diagnosis and treatment in TCM nephrology,the classification and terminology of nephropathies in TCM,the exploration of kidney disease syndromes and therapies,as well as the selection of clinical prescriptions and medications.关键词
