Effects of vitamin E on oxidative stress,antioxidant indexes,and muscle tissue structure in brain tissue of Crucian carp under cooling stress

Abstract
This study aimed to analyze the effects of adding vitamin E to water on oxidative stress indicators,antioxidant indicators,and muscle tissue structure in the brain tissue of crucian carp under cooling stress.This study measured the content of indicators such as malondialdehyde(MDA),hydrogen peroxide(H2O2),and superoxide anion(·O2-)in the brain tissue of crucian carp treated with vi-tamin E aqueous solution under cooling stress,as well as the enzyme activities of catalase(CAT),superoxide dismutase(SOD),and glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px),analyzed the tissue condition of muscle tissue,and explored the effects of vitamin E treatment on oxi-dative stress,antioxidant indicators,and muscle tissue structure in crucian carp brain tissue during the cooling process.Results showed that under cooling stress,the contents of MDA,H2O2,and·O2-in the E3 treatment group were significantly lower than those in the E1 and E2 treatment groups(P<0.05).The CAT,SOD,and GSH-Px activities of the E3 treatment group were significantly lower than those of the E1 and E2 treatment groups(P<0.05).Organizational analysis showed that the muscle tissue of crucian carp in the El and E2 treatment groups exhibited pathological symptoms such as muscle fiber looseness and homogenization,while the muscle tissue of crucian carp in the E3 treatment group showed no significant pathological changes.Under cooling stress,adding vitamin E to water can alleviate oxidative stress in crucian carp brain tissue and slow down oxidative damage to muscle tissue.关键词
