Effects of systematic rehabilitation therapy on cognitive,motor and balance function in stroke patients of different ages

Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects of systematic rehabilitation on cognitive,motor and balance function of stroke pa-tients in different age groups.Methods Fifty stroke patients receiving rehabilitation treatment in Tiantan Xiaotangshan Rehabilita-tion Center of Beijing Xiaotangshan Hospital from January 2023 to June 2023 were selected as the study objects,and were divided in-to the young and middle-aged group(22 cases aged 18～59 years)and the elderly group(28 cases aged 60～80 years)according to age stratigraphy.Both groups were given systematic rehabilitation treatment.The scores of clinical indicators before and after treat-ment were compared between the two groups,including the simple Mental State Examination Scale(MMSE)score,Montreal Cogni-tive Assessment Scale(MOCA),Fugl-Meyer Motor function(FMA)score,Fugl-Meyer balance function assessment,and Activity of daily Living Ability Scale(ADL).Results After treatment,there were significant improvements in cognition,movement,balance and activities of daily living in both groups compared with before treatment,with statistical significance(P＜0.05).There were no significant differences in cognition,movement,balance and activities of daily living between the two groups after treatment(P＞0.05).Conclusion After stroke patients of any age group receive systematic rehabilitation treatment,cognitive,motor,balance and other dysfunction can be significantly improved,and the quality of life of patients can be improved.However,the treatment effect of middle-aged and young patients has no obvious advantage compared with the elderly group,so we suggest that the intensity and dura-tion of routine rehabilitation of elderly stroke patients should not be reduced due to age factors.Elderly stroke patients also need sys-tematic and effective rehabilitation treatment.关键词
