Effects of Children Milk Powder Intervention on Growth and Development of Preschool Children

Abstract
[Objective]To evaluate the effects of children milk powder on growth and development of preschool children.[Method]In March 2023,preschool children aged 5—6 from 10 classes in a kindergarten in Huangmei county,Hubei province were recruited and randomly divided into 2 groups according to the class unit.Children in the intervention group stopped drinking 125mL student milk once a day in the afternoon and replaced it with children milk powder twice a day,once in the morning and once in the afternoon,25g and 200mL warm water each time for 2 months,while children in the control group maintained regular student milk.The basic information,dietary intake,physical activity and health status of preschool children were investigated before and after the intervention,and their height,weight and body composition data were measured.T-test was used to compare the difference before and after intervention of growth and develop-ment indicators between the two groups,and multiple linear regression adjustment for possible confounding factors.[Result]After 2 months of intervention,the height of children in the intervention group increased by 0.31cm(P<0.01)compared with the control group,the HAZ increased by 0.06(P<0.01),and the body protein content increased by 0.03kg(P<0.05).However,there were no significant differences in weight,BMI,BFM,FFM,body mineral content and TBW between the two groups(P>0.05).[Conclusion]The intervention of children milk powder for 2 months may improve the height of preschool children,but the effect on the physique and body composition of preschool children warrants further study.关键词
