Abstract
To understand the recent global situation of H5 subtype highly pathogenic avian influenza(HPAI)outbreaks,this paper statistically analyzes HPAI outbreak information from the"Weekly International Animal Disease Update"and"Outbreak Release"issued by the Bureau of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.The paper provides a comprehensive understanding of the occurrence and spread of H5 subtype HPAI outbreaks worldwide from 2020 to 2022,including spatial,temporal,and inter-species distribution,as well as the impact on the poultry industry.The results show that in 2020,H5N8 was the predominant subtype globally.Starting from May 2021,there was a trend of increasing H5N1 outbreaks and decreasing H5N8 outbreaks.By November,H5N1 had become the predominant subtype,with H5N8 occurring sporadically.The H5N1 subtype HPAI evolved into a global pandemic,severely affecting Europe as the"hardest-hit area",with significant outbreaks also in Africa and Asia.There were two notable intercontinental transmissions of H5 subtype HPAI in 2022:in February from Europe to North America and in October from North America to South America.These transmissions are closely linked to migratory bird movements.The findings indicate that the current H5N1 subtype HPAI pandemic has a long duration,wide spread,and significant impact on the global poultry industry.关键词
