Abstract

In the study of employing location-based spatial accessibility(LBSA)methods,accessibility indices cannot be calculated for those locations where some missing values exist in the cost matrix.Aiming at the mentioned above problem,we used the matrix eigendecomposition(ME)to replace LBSA in the current study.Taking the central plains economic region(CPER)in China as the study area,we obtained the travel time cost matrices derived from the 12306 website and the online map-based services,transformed it into spatial weights matrices(SWM),and analyzed and evaluated the development of high-speed rail from 2017 to 2021.The results show that being a valid alternative to the LBSA with some missing value in the evaluated locations(units),the ME method demonstrates a good effect when applied in the CPER in China.Compared with 2017,the spatial agglomeration level of high-speed rail decreases slightly and the spatial pattern with the"cross"shape of north-south direction and west-east direction has a weakening tendency in 2021.Significant spatial inequity does not exist in the CPER.Some prefecture-lev-el cities with a low level of high-speed rail development and less benefit during the study period should be paid attention to in the future high-speed rail planning.
