Theoretical connotations of"chronic diseases invading the collaterals"based on the SWI detection of cerebral microbleeds after AIS

Abstract
Cerebral microbleeds(CMBs)after acute ischemic stroke(AIS)belong to the category of collateral diseases in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),and the microvascular lesions of cerebral microbleeds conform to the pathological characteristics of circuity of cerebral collaterals,prevalence of deficiency and blood stasis in cerebral collaterals in the TCM collateral disease theory.Susceptibility weighted imaging(SWI)can explain and supplement the modern medical theory of"chronic diseases invading the collaterals"in traditional Chinese medicine from the perspective of imaging.Moreover,SWI can also offer a more accurate imaging basis for the diagnosis of cerebral microbleeds after acute ischemic stroke based on the theory of"chronic diseases invading the collaterals".Due to the small size of cerebral microbleeds and their hidden onset,an early clinical diagnosis is usually challenging.Therefore,based on the understanding of the theory of collateral diseases and the theory of"chronic diseases invading the collaterals"throughout the history,this paper explores the theory of"chronic diseases invading the collaterals"in the theory of collateral diseases from the perspective of magnetic susceptibility weighted imaging,aiming to provide a theoretical basis for the diagnosis and treatment of cerebral microbleeds after acute ischemic stroke in clinical practice.关键词
