Abstract

As the development of greenhouse vegetables,the incidence of root-knot nematodes is also on the rise.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the biological control of sweet potato root-knot nematodes.Utilizing'Lvbaoshi'muskmelon as the experimental material,this study investigated the suppressive effects of incorporating fermented garlic stalks into the soil on the incidence of root-knot nematodes and muskmelon yield.By comparing the impacts of garlic stalk application,the research aimd to provide technical support for the eco-friendly utilization of garlic stalks and the biological control of root-knot nematodes in greenhouse vegetables.The results indicated that applying fermented garlic stalks at a rate of 300 kg/667 m 2 significantly reduced the disease index of root-knot nematodes in melons,achieving a control efficacy of 43.02%.Moreover,this treatment effectively delayed the onset of the disease(10 d),increased melon yield(512.8 kg/667 m2),and enhanced production efficiency,providing technical support for the ecological utilization of garlic straw and the biological control of root knot nematodes in melons and vegetables.
