Abstract
Against the backdrop of the national deepening education reform,the traditional offline higher education model is transitioning to an online-offline blended teaching model,creating opportunities for cross-national online teaching collaboration.This paper examines the efficacy of an online-offline blended teaching model based on cross-national cooperation in the context of English courses for urban and rural planning.Utilizing online collaboration software and video conferencing tools,this approach facilitates teaching cooperation between classes from universities in different countries,guided by the same educational objectives and transcending cultural,linguistic,and time zone barriers to create a conducive and engaging learning atmosphere.This study uses the case of a professional English course in urban and rural planning in China,collaborating online with German students in urban design.Findings indicate that this model helps overcome the traditional barriers of professional English courses being detached from practical English application.The multidimensional peer review and feedback mechanism from cross-national university teachers enhance students'reflective abilities and broaden their perspectives.The online cross-national cooperative teaching model provides a lively,engaging,and collaborative learning environment for professional English courses in urban and rural planning.It effectively addresses issues such as lack of motivation,interest,and language environment in professional English learning for urban and rural planning students,and facilitates professional discussions in a practical English context.关键词
