Research progress on effects of biosynthetic selenium nanoparticles on intestinal mucosal immune function and microbial homeostasis

Abstract
Selenium nanoparticles have been widely used in functional foods and other fields due to their good biocompatibility,bio-availability,and low toxicity.This article reviewed the biosynthesis methods of selenium nanoparticles and research progresses in regulating intestinal mucosal immune function and maintaining intestinal microbiota homeostasis.Selenium nanoparticles could alleviate intestinal in-jury by activating the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2)pathway and its downstream genes.They exerted anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the Toll-like receptor 4(TLR4)/nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB)pathway.In the future,researchers could further explore the probiotic mechanism of biosynthesis of selenium nanoparticles,leverage the synergistic effect of probiotics and selenium nanop-articles,and achieve more precise and efficient probiotic effects,based on the foundations provided by this study.关键词
