The"Rural"Orientation of Pre-service Training:Strategies and Enlightenments for Promoting Rural Teacher Retention in the United States

Abstract
Pre-service training is a preparatory strategy to promote the retention of rural teachers,which is conducive to solving the problem of rural teacher turnover in the medium and long term.As a pre-service training program for rural teachers in the United States,the"Rural Teacher Residency Program"effectively promotes the retention of pre-service teachers in rural schools by setting courses tailored to the actual needs of rural schools,allowing resident students to conduct in-depth research in communities,and carrying out long-term residency internships in rural schools.The underlying mechanism of the program is that it prepares residency to teach in rural areas in terms of psychology,knowledge,skills and emotions.The guarantee mechanism of the project includes linking financial aid to rural teaching obligations,collaborating with universi-ties,communities and rural schools to design and implement training programs,and building a comprehensive support system for students in residence to reduce geographical and social isola-tion.关键词
