Simulation and design of a high-coupling planar transformer based on LTCC technology

Abstract
This study employed the Low-Temperature Co-fired Ceramic(LTCC)technology to develop a miniaturized,high-coupling planar transformer.To address the low coupling efficiency in existing LTCC planar transformers,an innovative design was proposed.The primary and secondary coils were placed on the same plane,and a non-magnetic dielectric layer was added between the primary and secondary coils to enhance the coupling coefficient.Additionally,the structural parameters were simulated to understand their effect on the coupling coefficient.The simulation results demonstrate that the coupling coefficient of the proposed LTCC planar transformer is significantly better than that of traditional structures,with a simulated coupling coefficient value of over 0.9.This design provides a valuable reference for the future development of LTCC planar transformers with high coupling efficiency.关键词
