Thirty Years of Research on Mathematics Education in China(1993-2023):Review and Prospect

摘要

Abstract

By using the content analysis method,588 doctoral dissertations in mathematics education in China(mainland)from 1993 to 2023 were counted and analyzed from the dimensions of the distribution of the number of theses,the degree awarding units,the disciplines and majors they belong to,the research fields and themes of theses,so as to understand the current situation and trends of the research on mathematics education in China in the past three decades,and look forward to promoting the healthy development of mathematics education research in China.Research has found that the number of papers is on the rise and can be divided into three stages:an average of 1.7,13.4,and 29.8 papers per year;There are as many as 33 degree granting institutions,but the number of doctoral programs is uneven;There are many disciplines and majors to which a thesis belongs,but there is a tendency towards them;The research field mainly focuses on mathematics learning,mathematics teaching,and mathematics teacher research;There is an imbalance in research topics across different fields.Therefore,expanding the search methods for paper reviews,optimizing the doctoral training mechanism in mathematics education,promoting the comprehensiveness of mathematics education development,and enhancing the timeliness of thesis topics should be the future development direction.
