The Structural Contradictions,Factors,and Strategies of Chinese Teacher Education System:A Systematic Review based on Complexity Theory

摘要

Abstract

The quality of the teacher education system is crucial for teacher professionalization and overall education quality,but its inadequacy in responding to complex environmental changes remains prominent.Based on complexity theory,this study reviews structural contradictions and their causes within the teacher education system.By analyzing 50 empirical stud-ies from 2001 to 2024,key challenges are identified:regional supply-demand imbalances,mismatched educational levels,weakened institutional training functions,limited collaboration,insufficient adaptability and diversity in program settings,teacher shortages in specific fields,and a lack of systematic coherence and incentives.These issues are further analyzed through the lens of complexity theory,highlighting structural nesting,low self-organizing efficiency,and inadequate adapta-bility of feedback mechanisms as root causes.Corresponding suggestions are proposed to enhance the system's adaptability to change.
