Abstract

Inquiry-oriented teacher education is a key paradigm in the field but is often conflated with research-oriented or research-based approaches.This paper distinguishes teacher inquiry from academic educational research and proposes an in-tegrated framework that unites these paradigms in teacher education.By examining typical cases of inquiry-oriented teacher education,the study reveals potential pathways for research-intensive universities to avoid replicating methods designed for training academic successors.Instead,it advocates for a more nuanced and appropriate approach to connecting teaching and research,thereby enhancing the academic rigor of teacher education while maintaining its practical orientation.
