Abstract
In order to investigate the stability of eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA)and docosahexaenoic acid(DHA)in a combined krill oil and fish oil soft capsule,and to evaluate its hypolipidemic effect and safety in individuals with hyperlipidemia;Accelerated degradation testing was conducted to determine EPA and DHA content in the soft gels capsule stored for 0,1,2,and 3 months.Subsequently,a randomized,placebo-controlled trial was performed.One hundred three subjects(N=103)with hyperlipidemia were randomly assigned to receive either krill oil and fish oil soft capsule(Test Group)or a placebo of equivalent dosage(Control Group)daily for 90 days.Changes in serum lipid profiles TC,TG,LDL,HDL and any reported symptoms were assessed.The results showed that the EPA and DHA content in the krill oil and fish oil soft capsule remained stable under accelerated conditions,showing no significant degradation over the 3-month test period.In the human trial,the test group experienced significant reductions in serum TC,TG,and LDL-C levels compared to the control group.Serum HDL-C levels did not change significantly in either group.Participants receiving the krill oil and fish oil soft capsule also reported improvement in primary clinical symptoms.No adverse reactions or allergic symptoms were observed during the study period.Therefore,the EPA and DHA in the krill oil and fish oil soft capsule were stable and controllable,serving as quality control indicators for efficacy studies.This product demonstrated significant lipid-lowering effect and had no side effects in humans.关键词
