Abstract

Physalins and sterols extracted from calyx of red Physalis cultivated in the Changbai mountain were optimized by orthogonal test.The antioxidant and antibacterial properties of physalins were then studied.The optimal extraction conditions of physalins and sterols were determined to be a solid-to-liquid ratio of 1∶15(g/mL),an ultrasonic time of 30 minutes,and an ethanol concentration of 90%,resulting in physalin and sterol extraction rates of 19.55%and 2.80%,respectively.The physalins demonstrated significant antioxidant and bacteriostatic properties.The semi-inhibitory concentrations of physalins against DPPH and ABTS were 1.03 mg/mL and 1.71 mg/mL,respectively.Additionally,physalins exhibited strong antibacterial activity,the inhibiting ability on Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli reached 89.8%and 89.7%,respectively.The study provides a theoretical basis for the development and application of calyx from red Physalis.
