Abstract

The theoretical conception of modernizing Chinese curriculum is rooted in the unique context of Chinese modernization and stems from the reflection and transcendence of Western modernization theories in the field of educa-tion.Since the 2001 basic education reform marked the beginning of a new era,China's curriculum has gradually deep-ened its understanding of the connotation of modernization,committed to serving the goal of modernization with Chinese characteristics,implementing the educational philosophy of"cultivating virtue and nurturing talent",and comprehensively promoting the modernization of individuals.The modernization reform of the curriculum,as an internal driving force,inter-acts with the external influence of social modernization transformation,jointly promoting the continuous improvement and self-realization of the modernity of the curriculum.Under the general trend of global curriculum reform,the Chinese school curriculum system,in the specific social system and cultural context,has undergone an evolution from borrowing to local innovation,from isolation to interdisciplinary practice,and from discipline orientation to collaborative education,presenting features such as the integration of local and global,the parallelism of inheritance and innovation,and the coexistence of continuity and stages.The three fundamental questions in curriculum research,as"what kind of people to cultivate","what knowledge is more valuable",and"how learning occurs",embody dialectical thoughts of"individual and public","theory and practice",and"ritual and tool",constituting the local driving force for the modernity of the curriculum and shaping the unique theoretical appearance and value orientation of the Chinese curriculum modernization.To develop a theoretical framework for curriculum modernization that conforms to China's national conditions and reflects the characteristics of Chinese education,it is necessary to base on the disciplinary foundation of Chinese curriculum theory,and focus on culti-vating profound theoretical awareness and autonomy:constructing a modern curriculum theory with Chinese characteristics,innovating internationalized curriculum cultural resources,establishing a curriculum concept system with Chinese style,and promoting the production of curriculum knowledge with Chinese solutions.Through these approaches,the academic positioning can be clarified,the narrative thinking can be made clear,the discourse and knowledge autonomy can be strengthened,thereby demonstrating the academic strength and knowledge contribution of Chinese curriculum theory to the world.
