Abstract
Antifreeze peptides are a class of small proteins that possess the unique ability to inhibit ice crystal growth and lower the freezing point of solutions without affecting the melting point.These peptides attract significant attention for their potential in cryopreserva-tion,providing a novel approach to preserving biological materials at low temperatures.Current review provides an in-depth analysis of the mechanisms by which antifreeze peptides exert their cryoprotective effects,detailing their structural features and the underlying physics that enable them to interact with ice crystals.It also evaluates their applications in cry opreservation,emphasizing their role in maintaining cell viability and integrity during the freezing and thawing processes.The review highlights the significance of peptides in advancing cryobi-ology and their potential impact on industrial and medical cryopreservation practices.This concise yet comprehensive summary offers a clear understanding of the current state of research on antifreeze peptides and their future trajectory in the field of low-temperature biology and biotechnology.关键词
