Release kinetics and mechanisms of yam polysaccharide-nano selenium complexes in simulated gastrointestinal fluids
摘要
Abstract
The release behavior of selenium from the yam polysaccharide-nanoselemium complex in simulated gastrointestinal fluids was investigated to understand its release profile and mechanisms in the body.Particle size distribution of yam polysaccharide-nanoselenium complex before and after simulated gastrointestinal digestion was measured by nanoparticle size analyzer,and the morphology of yam polysaccharide-nanoselenium complex particles before and after simulated gastrointestinal digestion was observed by atomic force microscopy(AFM).After in vitro digestion,fitting analyses of selenium were performed using five kinetic models:zero order,first order,Higuchi,Hixson-Crowell,and Korsmeyer-Peppas model.After simulated gastrointestinal digestion,the size of the yam polysaccharide-nanoselenium complex increased significantly,and the boundary was gradually blurred.The release of Se from three yam polysaccharide-nanoselenium complexes with different selenium/polysaccharide ratios(selenium/polysaccharide=1∶3,1∶1,4∶3)in simulated gastrointestinal fluid showed a classical Fickian diffusion release mechanism.The selenium/polysaccharide ratio of 1∶1 yam polysaccharide-nanoselenium complex had a lower Se release in the simulated gastric fluid and a higher Se release in the simulated intestinal fluid.Therefore,the yam polysaccharide-nanoselemium complex was suggested to be an effective in vitro selenium delivery carrier,with potential applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries.关键词
