Abstract

The question-setting paradigm for the new college entrance examination mathematics papers has gradually shifted from a focus on comprehensive assessment of knowledge to a new orientation centered on problem-based scenarios that integrate the assessment of mathematical core competencies.Problem-based scenarios are not only an important medium for evaluating mathematical core competencies but also a key criterion for defining different levels of core competency.Therefore,this study conducts an in-depth analysis of the interactive relationship between mathematical core competencies and problem-based scenarios under the new college entrance examination framework,and establishes an evaluation indicator framework for mathematical core competencies based on problem-based scenarios.Based on this framework,a coding analysis was conducted on the 12 sets of new college entrance examination mathematics papers from 2020 to 2025,including both Paper Ⅰ and Paper Ⅱ.Statistical analysis revealed that the new college entrance examination mathematics papers are grounded in the creation of familiar contexts,emphasizing the evaluation of rational thinking;they deepen the creation of comprehensive contexts,focusing on the integration of mathematical knowledge systems;and they highlight mathematical application and practice,serving the selection of outstanding innovative talents for the future.
