Abstract
Based on the 0.18-μm CMOS process,a high-precision RC oscillator was designed for mixed-signal chips.The oscillation was achieved by dynamic flipping the upper and lower plates of the charging capacitor.The oscillator adopts a single-comparator fast-discharge structure to minimize the impact of capacitor discharge time on frequency stability.To suppress process variations and temperature drift,a low-temperature-drift constant current source was introduced as the current reference,and the charging current was calibrated in combination with a digital trimming circuit and a temperature compensation circuit.A bandgap reference voltage source and a low-dropout linear regulator(LDO)were integrated to provide a low-noise internal power supply,and reduce the impact of supply voltage fluctuations on frequency stability.Post-layout simulation results show that the oscillator generates a 2 MHz output frequency with a startup time of<5 μs.The output frequency variation is less than±0.57%from-40 ℃ to 125 ℃ and less than±0.42%for a supply voltage from 2.5 V to 5.5 V.This design satisfies the requirements of mixed-signal chips for fast startup and high precision.关键词
