Abstract

To address the issues of human interference and limited detection dimensions in traditional cut tobacco inspection techniques,an integrated detection system based on digital image processing technology was constructed.Cut tobacco images were acquired offline using a digital camera.Algorithms such as grayscale conversion,adaptive threshold segmentation,and Canny edge detection were employed to achieve contour extraction and quantitative analysis of morphological parameters of the cut tobacco.This was supplemented by computational fluid dynamics(CFD)numerical simulation of multi-component particles and experimental validation of the motion characteristics of cut tobacco particles.The results showed that the peak probability densities for cut tobacco length,perimeter,and area were 20 mm,45 mm,and 25 mm2,respectively.The distribution peaks for circularity,rectangularity,and sphericity were 0.12,0.20,and 0.16,respectively.The measured average density of the cut tobacco was 933 kg/m3,with a poisson's ratio of 0.270.CFD simulations indicated that as the aspect ratio of cut tobacco increased from 4:1 to 6:1,the momentum transfer efficiency in the gas-solid two-phase flow decreased,and the agglomeration effect intensified.This research provides a reference for further enhancing the processing adaptability of cut tobacco in cigarette production and the smoking quality of finished cigarettes.
