Optimization design of the adsorption performance for the PROTOS aligning drum based on response surface methodology

Abstract
To address the frequent falling issue of triacetin-activated carbon filter segments in PROTOS cigarette making and tipping units caused by inadequate adsorption,Fluent software was employed to perform numerical simulation of the internal flow field within the aligning drum.Combined with the Box-Behnken response surface methodology,the influence of the positioning block opening height,groove pore radius,and pore inclination angle on adsorption performance was investigated.A response surface prediction model was constructed to achieve optimized design of the aligning drum's structure.The results showed that the aligning drum achieved optimal adsorption performance with a positioning block opening height of 4 mm,a pore radius of 2 mm,and a pore inclination angle of 0°.After optimization,the fluctuation range of the static pressure at the fluid outlet of the aligning drum was reduced by 76.26%,and the minimum static pressure value decreased by 17.18%,indicating significantly improved overall adsorption stability.The daily occurrence of filter segment falling per unit decreased from 14.5 times to 4.0 times,representing a reduction of 72.4%.This research provides a reliable technical approach for enhancing the performance of aligning drums in cigarette making and tipping equipment.关键词
