Abstract

Yellow peaches are highly susceptible to postharvest decay.To explore an effective preservation strategy,this study investigated the effects of pre-harvest spraying of sodium dehydroacetate on'Jinxiu'yellow peaches.The decay index,firmness,color difference,and other quality indicators were evaluated under 4℃cold storage and subsequent 25℃shelf-life conditions.Additionally,high-throughput sequencing technology was employed to analyze the treatment's impact on fruit quality and fungal diversity.The results demonstrated that at the end of the shelf-life period,the decay index of the sodium dehydroacetate-treated group decreased by 22.12%compared to the control group,while fruit firmness increased by 18.92%.Furthermore,the treatment effectively delayed the decline in titratable acidity,total soluble solids,and free water content.High-throughput sequencing revealed that sodium dehydroacetate treatment reduced fungal diversity and richness in both the peel and flesh during cold storage.It notably altered the fungal community structure of the fruit and suppressed the relative abundance of potential pathogenic fungi,including Diaporthe,Cladosporium,Alternaria,and Fusarium.In conclusion,the pre-harvest application of sodium dehydroacetate can effectively extend the shelf life of'Jinxiu'yellow peaches.
