Abstract

To address the conflict between high energy consumption in cold chain systems and ecological sustainability during the scaling of China's aquatic Pre-prepared meals industry,this study employs Life Cycle Assessment(LCA)to establish a comprehensive"Farming-Processing-Cold Chain Transportation-Storage&Retail-Consumption"analytical framework.Using Buddha Jumping Over the Wall Pre-prepared meals as a case study,we quantify its carbon footprint and reveal emission patterns in cold chain-dependent supply chains.Results indicate a bimodal distribution of carbon emissions:processing(43.25%)and cold chain transportation(24.58%)constitute the core emission sources,followed by storage&retail(25.19 kg,14.24%)and farming(24.65 kg,13.94%),with other stages contributing 3.15%.Notably,the aquatic premade supply chain demonstrates a 3%reduction in total emissions compared to meat supply chains,while consumption-stage emissions exhibit exponential growth – particularly when cold storage extends from 1 to 35 days,where its emission share surges dramatically from 0.99%to 30.91%.Higher household refrigerator power correlates with lower sensitivity in emission growth coefficients.Consequently,we propose a carbon reduction mechanism centered on Standardization-Informatization-Ecologization,providing critical technical support for the food industry's green transition.
