Research progress on extraction techniques and pharmacological activities of chemical components from Lonicera japonica leaves

Abstract
This review systematically summarized the research progress on extraction process,pharmacological activity of chemical components from Lonicera japonica leaves.Lonicera japonica leaves were reported to contain various bioactive components such as chlorogenic acid and flavonoids,with the total flavonoid content significantly higher than that in the floral parts.They exhibited multiple pharmacological activities including antibacterial,antioxidant,and hepatoprotective effects.In terms of extraction techniques,traditional alcohol-water extraction,auxiliary technologies such as ultrasound-,microwave-,and enzyme-assisted extraction,as well as novel separation technologies like aqueous two-phase systems and supercritical CO2 extraction were applied.Among them,pressure-assisted co-extraction technology enabled efficient simultaneous extraction of chlorogenic acid and flavonoids.Pharmacological studies indicated that extraction techniques directly affected the activity of components:for example,the 50%ethanol extract showed the optimal antibacterial activity;the refined flavonoids had a minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC)of 1.95~62.5 mg·mL-1 against 9 pathogenic bacteria;and among antioxidant components,luteolin had an IC50 of 0.018 mg·mL-1,which was superior to ascorbic acid.Applications were expanded to fields such as fermented foods and cosmetic raw materials.And it was suggested that green extraction technologies such as deep eutectic solvents and multi-omics mechanism analysis would become research focuses to promote the high-value utilization of Lonicera japonica leaves resources.关键词
