Abstract

A dual-band MIMO antenna operating in 5G communication(1.98-2.01 GHz and 2.17-2.2 GHz)as well as the Wi-Fi 7 bands(2.4 GHz,5 GHz,and 6 GHz)was designed to meet the high-rate and high-isolation requirements of 5G and next-generation wireless local area networks.The antenna is a slot antenna fed by a coplanar waveguide(CPW).Bandwidth enhancement is achieved by incorporating a trident-shaped structure at the feed end,while dual-band operation is realized through a semi-elliptical annular slot.The antenna measures 103.2 mm×47.1 mm×0.8 mm.The two antenna elements are arranged in parallel,and their ground planes are connected via a rectangular structure,which improves the isolation to better than 20 dB effectively.Measurements demonstrate that,the antenna exhibits operational bandwidths of 1.81-3.77 GHz(70.2%)and 4.75-7.55 GHz(45.5%),along with good omnidirectional radiation characteristics and a peak gain exceeding 7 dB within the operating bands.The envelope correlation coefficient(ECC)is below 0.001,the diversity gain(DG)is greater than 9.99 dB,and the total active reflection coefficient(TARC)remains below-10 dB across all operating bands.This dual-band MIMO antenna demonstrates promising application prospects in Wi-Fi 7 and 5G communication systems.
