Design of bandgap reference source with wide input range and adjustable low temperature coefficient

Abstract
To address the inherent limitations of conventional bandgap reference(BGR)circuits,including a narrow input voltage range,low supply voltage tolerance,a high temperature coefficient(TC),and significant susceptibility to non-systematic errors,a bandgap reference voltage source with a wide input voltage range,high supply voltage capability,low temperature coefficient,and an integrated digital trimming function was proposed.The input voltage range of the circuit was extended substantially through the optimization of the power supply regulator architecture;The temperature coefficient was reduced remarkably by adopting a piecewise curvature compensation technique;And the adverse impact of non-systematic errors on circuit performance was mitigated effectively via the design of a dedicated digital trimming circuit.Circuit simulations were carried out using Cadence Spectre based on a 0.18 μm BCD process.Simulation results demonstrate that,at a nominal supply voltage of 22 V and over a temperature range of-20℃to 120℃,the output voltage of the proposed BGR circuit remains stable at607.7 mV,with a low temperature coefficient of 2.82×10-6/℃.The power supply rejection ratio(PSRR)is-99 dB at 100 Hz and-96 dB at 10 kHz.Furthermore,the reference circuit operates stably over an ultra-wide input voltage range of 2.6 V to 22 V,with a line regulation of 0.000023,which shows excellent robustness against supply voltage fluctuations.Owing to its wide input range and high-voltage tolerance,the proposed bandgap reference has broad application prospects in high-voltage scenarios such as high-voltage DC-DC converters,audio equipment,digital cameras,and mobile terminals.关键词
