Relationship Between Dietary Antioxidant Index and Disease Recurrence and Inflammation Level in Elderly Patients with Vaginitis

Abstract
[Objective]To investigate the relationship between dietary antioxidant index(DAI)and disease recurrence and inflammation level in elderly patients with vaginitis(SV).[Method]A total of 216 SV patients admitted to our hospital from January 2021 to December 2023 were retrospectively selected and followed up for at least 1 year.The follow-up ended in December 2024.Patients were divided into relapse group(n=48)and non-relapse group(n=168)according to whether they had recurred.Dietary survey was conducted using the simpli-fied Food Frequency Questionnaire(FFQ)at admission to obtain the food intake frequency information of the study subjects in the past year,and DAI=∑i=110(Xi-Ui)/SDi was calculated.Binary Logistics regression analyzed the influencing factors of SV recurrence,and analyzed the inflammation levels before and after treat-ment in patients with different DAI levels.[Result]Comparison of underwear fabric,mixed washing of underwear,vulva cleaning,and DAI between the two groups of patients showed statistically significant differ-ences(P<0.05).Binary logistic regression analysis indicated that underwear fabric(OR=1.235),mixed washing of underwear(OR=1.381),vulva cleaning(OR=1.425),and DAI(OR=0.562)were independent influencing factors for recurrence in SV patients(P<0.05).Patients were divided into groups according to different DAI levels using the quartile method:high DAI group(n=54,DAI>2.07),medium DAI group(n=108,0.53≤DAI≤2.07),and low DAI group(n=54,DAI<0.53).After treatment,TNF-α and IL-6 in the high DAI group were lower than those in the medium and low DAI groups,while IL-2 and IL-10 were higher than those in the medium and low DAI groups(P<0.05).[Conclusion]DAI is an independent factor in disease recurrence in SV patients and a protective factor for recurrence.After treatment,the inflammation level in patients with high DAI improves better.关键词
